William Kerr

Read biographical sketch.

Born 1809, in Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Came to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1850. Settled in Lake County in 1851. Married Margaret Steel in 1850. See tree above for children. Died February 29, 1884.

Margaret Steele

Born November 25, 1825, in Annon, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Married William Kerr. See tree above for details of five sons. Died May 12, 1898, at age 73 (obituary).

Thomas Kerr

Born about 1815 in Scotland. Married Mary G in 1841. Lived in Canada for three years before coming to America. See tree above for children. Died October 22, 1889, at age 74.

Mary (unknown last name)

Born on June 20, 1817, in Annan, Scotland, one of nine children. Married Thomas Kerr in 1841. Died on April 15, 1901 (obituary).

David S.

Born January 4, 1852, in Illinois. Married Julia A. Palmer on January 20, 1874. She was the daughter of Edmund and Annie Palmer. Machinist. Partner of Palmer and Kerr, plow manufacturers. Julia was a milliner. Lived in Waukegan. Children: Lula, born about 1875. Moved to Council Bluff, Iowa, about April 30, 1889.

John A.

Born August 4, 1853, in Illinois. Married Alice A. Mathews about December 4, 1877. Children: John Alexander, born January, 1880, married Bridget, died March, 1902, at Livingston, Montana. Died December, 1880, of diabetes.
