Robert C. "Bob" Hughes, 66, of Antioch, Illinois passed away May
14, 1994 at his daughter's home in Lee, Illinois after a long
illness.
He was born March 16, 1928 in Antioch, the son of Alexander and
Mabel (Christopher) Hughes and had lived in Antioch all of his
life. He farmed for many years in the Antioch area and was
employed by Johns-Manville Corporation in Waukegan for many
years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S.
Marine Corps and was a member of the Lake County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Robin (Victor) Sebastiano, of
rural Lee; Elizabeth Hughes, of Antioch; a son, Christopher
Hughes, of Antioch; 2 sisters, Margaret Landman, of Charlevoix,
Michigan; Joan (Harry) Stewart, of Antioch; 2 grandchildren Joann
and Melanie Sebastiano, of rural Lee and numerous nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters,
Helen, Ruth, Jean, Phyllis, and Julia and a son David Allan
Hughes.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, May 22, 1994 at
the Millburn Congregational Church in Millburn, Illinois with
Rev. Paul Meltzer, church pastor officiating. The family
requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be
directed to the Antioch Rescue Squad or the Indian Creek High
School FFA Scholarship Fund in Shabbona, Illinois.
