Robert R. Brooks, 47, of Millburn in Old Mill Creek, passed away on August 5, 1994 at home. He was born September 12, 1946 in Waukegan and graduated from the Waukegan Township High School in 1964. He attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana and served in the U. S. Navy for 4 years and played in the Navy Band. He worked at the Dynapar Corporation in Gurnee and most recently was employed for 12 years by the Flolo Corporation in Gurnee as a Sales Representative. He played French Horn with the West Grade School Band, the Waukegan Township High School Band, the Library-Fremont Concerts, the Racine Symphony Orchestra, the College of Lake County Wind Ensemble, the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra. He was a Charter Member of the Historic Millburn Community Association of which he served as Treasurer for approximately 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jill (Reitz) Brooks, and his son, Ross Brooks, at home; his parents, Robert A. Brooks and Eleanor (Lossman) Brooks, of Zion, Illinois; his sister, Bonnie Brooks (James) Whalen, of El Paso, Texas; many devoted relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Millburn Congregational Church at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August, 21, 1994. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Historic Millburn Community Association, 19610 W. Grass Lake Road, Lake Villa, Illinois 60046. Arrangements are under the care of The MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois.
