Leslie S. Bonner
Leslie S. Bonner, 80, of Millburn, Ill., died Tuesday, May 7 at Victory Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 30, 1887, in Millburn, the son of James and Eliza Bonner. He was born on the farm his parents purchased in 1847 and lived there all his life, He was a life member of the Millburn Congregational Church and had been active in church affairs. He was a member of the Lake County Farm Bureau, and served as president of the Millburn Mutual Insurance Co. for 30 years. He was also a member of the Millburn Grade School Board for 25 years, and the Warren Township High School Board for 15 years. He married Faye Dawson, October 29, 1914 at Millburn.
He is survived by his widow, Faye, two daughters, Mrs. Beryl (Vernon) Stahnke of Schaumburg, Ill., and Mrs. Geraldine (H. B.) Petty of Urbana, Ill., a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Arlene Bonner of Lake Villa, a sister, Miss Vivien Bonner of LaGrange Park, Ill., 9 granddaughters and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, Lyman Bonner, in 1953, and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Bonner in 1955.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P. M., Thursday, May 9 at the Strang Funeral Home, Antioch, Rev. L. H. Messersmith of Millburn Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be at Millburn Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 P. M. Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Millburn Congregational Church.
