William M. Revenaugh, DDS
William M. Revenaugh, DDS, of Old Mill Creek, formerly of
Lake Forest, passed away Friday, July 12, 2002, in the
Cardiac Care Unit at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville,
IL. He was born on January 31, 1931 in Canton, OH. He
completed his undergraduate degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from Northwestern
University Dental School in 1957. He then served in the US
Navy until 1959 as a Naval Dental Officer. While living in
Lake Forest he served on the District 67 School Board, and
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he
served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. In 1983, he moved
to Old Mill Creek where he was a member of the Millburn
Congregational United Church of Christ. He served as
Treasurer of the Village of Old Mill Creek and was
presently a member of the Old Mill Creek Planning
Commission. Dr. Revenaugh was active in both the Lake
Forest and the Antioch Rotary International Clubs and the
Historic Millburn Community Association. His memberships
include the American Dental Association, North Suburban
Branch of the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State
Dental Society, and the North Suburban Society of Dental
Research. After his retirement in 1997 from his Lake Forest
dental practice, he established an antique clock repair
business in conjunction with the Millburn Art Gallery. On
June 18, 1955, he married Dawn Johnson in Wausau, WI.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Dawn; his
children, John (Debbie) Revenaugh of Chicago, Mary (Bill)
Rademacher of Dallas, TX, Ann (Phil) Hernken of Pleasant
Prairie, WI and Paul (Linda) Revenaugh of Belgrade, MT; ten
grandchildren; and his brother, Robert (Helga) Revenaugh of
Elizabeth, IL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Monday, June 15,
2002 at the Millburn Congregational United Church of Christ
(Rte 45 and Grass Lake Rd) with Pastor Paul Meltzer
officiating. An informal gathering celebrating his life
will be held at his home following the Services.
