George Emerson Thayer Dies
George Emerson Thayer was buried last Sunday. The services were held in
the Church which was scarcely large enough to contain those attending. After a
long, painful illness due to the bursting of a blood vessel in the brain, it
was found necessary to trephine him, and this critical operation was performed
only to disclose a general inflammation, which baffled skill to reduce. He
was 37 years old, the youngest son and had spent his entire life at home.
Related to many, dearly loved by those who knew him best, esteemed by his
fellows, he will be sadly missed. Pastor Harris delivered tile funeral
sermon. Text "One is not" Gen. 42:13.
Many had hoped that George Thayer's life might be saved through the
eminent skill of specialists, but the disease was of a serious nature from
the beginning and there seemed to be no help. His death touches a large
circle of relatives and friends. The family have the sympathy of the entire
community.
