Jane E. Welch
Miss Jane E. Welch, 91, of Newport Township, a retired school teacher
and lifelong resident of Newport Township, died early today in the
Zion Nursing Home, Zion. She had been ill three years.
Miss Welch was born Oct. 21, 1870, in Newport Township. She had
taught over 40 years, working in every grade school in Newport Township.
She is survived by three nieces, Miss Norma Welch of Wadsworth, Mrs. Robert
(Betty) Lundgren of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Mrs. Bertha Jones of Waukegan;
and four nephews, Warren Welch of Wadsworth, Garner Faulkner, of
Kenosha, Wesley Faulkner of Capron, and Ray Faulkner of Zion. Services
will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home at 1521 Washington
St., Waukegan, with Rev. L. H. Messersmith of the Millburn
Congregational Church officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Rest Cemetery, Rosecrans.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. tomorrow.

CATHERINE THOMMESSEN
Miss Catherine Thommessen, 85, of 511 Franklin St., died
early today in Venetian Manor Rest Home, Lake Villa, after
a two and one half month illness.
Born Sept. 18, 1874 in Newport Township, she had lived in
Waukegan for the past 24 years. She was a member of the
Christ Episcopal Church.
She leaves a sister, Mrs. Gertrude McClure of Waukegan.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the
funeral home, 1521 Washington St.
Friends may call there after 4 p.m. tomorrow.
Burial will be in Millburn Cemetery, Millburn.
