MRS. WEBB, 75 - Taken by Death
DESCENDANT OF JANE McALISTER
SUCCUMBS IN VICTORY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Mrs. Emma Webb, 75, of 323 Center St., a widely known resident of
Waukegan for 58 years, died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at Victory
Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient there since Sunday.
Mrs. Webb, the daughter of John and Mary Thayer Adams, was born
in Chicago and moved to Millburn at an early age. She came to
Waukegan in 1889 and lived at her Center St. home for the past 50
years.
A descendant of the McAlister family, Mrs. Webb was related to
Jane McAlister for whom Waukegan's first hospital was named.
A member of the First Baptist Church, Mrs. Webb was active in
church affairs for many years before her health began to fail.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Kenneth B. Simpson, of
Waukegan, and Miss Marilyn Simpson, who arrived in Waukegan from
Los Angeles, Calif., last night to attend the funeral. Mrs. Webb
was preceded in death by her husband Frank Webb in 1932 and her
only child Mrs. Madeleine Simpson, in 1945.
