Horace Gerry and wife, of Waukegan, visited the latter's mother, Mrs. Yule, last Saturday.

Miss K. L. Smith is having her store reshingled. Mr. Yule and Fred Heddle are doing the work.

The Stewart Thanksgiving was held with Mrs. James H. Bonner this year.

Jessie Strang and Alice Jamieson went to Somers Tuesday to attend the wedding of Carrie ----

Dr. and Mrs. Tombaugh, of Sheridan, Ill., dined with Mr. and Mrs. Pantall Thanksgiving day. They attended the war concert and called on old friends.

Robert Jamieson was home for the turkey dinner.

Edwin Taylor dined with his father and mother, Dr. and Mrs. Taylor, Thursday.

Herbert Todd, of Chicago, who lived in Millburn fourteen years ago, spent Thanksgiving with his aunt, Mrs. Pantall.

The Thom family and the Harris family ate turkey with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Thom, newly married and nicely settled in their new home.

John Thayer, of Antioch, is at Mr. Palmer's getting the farm ready for the next tenant. Mr. Palmer has already begun work on the place he bought of James King, once the home of Gardiner Hastings.

Word comes from Minnesota of one of Will Trotter's little boys (Roy, the second one) being operated on for appendicitius. The friends here are very anxious about the result.

Mrs. Trotter went to the city Wednesday to attend the wedding of her son Richard Gardiner Trotter and Miss Julia Smith, which occurred at Lincoln Park, Thursday evening the 14th. The couple will continue to reside in Chicago.

Alfred and Emma Spafford were both in the city last Saturday.

Mrs. Wm. Stedman, of Elgin, came last week to visit her mother and father Mr. and Mrs. George E. Smith.

A large box and barrel of reading matter was shipped this week from here to the Reformatory at Pontiac, Ill., as requested by Rev. Mr. Bohler.

James Thom has gone to Madison, Wis., to attend school.

Mrs. Simons returned to Pikeville, Wednesday after a two weeks' visit at Mrs. Mathews'.

Willie Rose is expected home for Christmas.

A box of quilts, toys, pictures and some clothing were sent to the Babys' Home in Chicago, through the efforts of Mrs. Janette Mathews.

Mrs. Pantall returned home Saturday night after a few days visit in the city.

Harrison Hobbs visited his mother and sister Georganna in the city recently.

Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Adams and children are expected out Saturday to stay over Christmas.

Mr. Harris gave an interesting report of his visit to the States Prison at Joliet, Sunday evening.

The mail carrier seems to be rushed with business now a days.
