THAIN: in Millburn, Ill., January 5, 1888 of inflammation of the
stomach, of Mrs. James L. Thain, aged nearly 56 years.

On last Thursday morning, Mrs. Jas. L. Thain, of Millburn, a
leading lady of that place, died, aged about 56 years. Mrs.
Thain had been in poor health for some time, but her last illness
was for only about a week. The deceased was one of the old
residents of Millburn and was a lady universally loved and
esteemed. She leaves her husband and seven children, six
daughters and one son, to mourn her death. Her daughters are
Mrs. Peter Fisher, Mrs. George D. Hardy, Miss Thain, of this
city, Miss Stewart, of Deerfield, a daughter living at home and
Mrs. Dr. Leonard, of Kansas City. Her son, Mr. Stewart, has been
at Millburn. The funeral will be held to-day from her late home
in Millburn.
