With sadness, we report the death of one of our members, Marian Lossman Atterbury. Marion and her husband Peyton were great supporters of our Association. Our Association was given the opportunity to conduct an Estate Sale at her Waukegan Family Home. Thanks to all who helped and to the Estate Administrator, Bonnie Whalen, for giving us the opportunity to earn some funds for the Association.

Please mark your calendar now for the Annual H. M. C. A. Inc. Meeting on March 5th, 2002. The meeting will be held in Lauren Hall, Millburn Church. At this meeting four Selectmen (Board Members) will be elected. The Assn. has 8 Selectmen who meet once a month on the first Tuesday at 7 P. M. at Martin's General Store. Visitors are welcome. You do not have to live in Millburn to be elected to the Board. Help is always needed to Collect and Preserve our Past and Present History. Millburn museum hit by car Tuesday evening, Dec. 4th. A car tried to enter the Museum and succeeded in wrecking the windows and walls at the southwest corner of the building. The impact pushed the shelves holding priceless history, loose from the walls, causing the breakable items to tumble down, landing on top of each other and ending in many pieces on the floor. Old books sailed through the air leaving paper trails, old clothing mixed with glass, paper and water, apparently from the car radiator. However, lots to be thankful for. The H. M. C. A. Board were to have their monthly meeting that evening at 7:00 P.M. The accident was just before that time. The strength of the old construction stopped the car. The Selectmen were not in the building or getting out of their cards which would have been parked in front of the store. We understand that the two people in the car are recovering. Much to be thankful for. Where and when do we start trying to put things back together? First the repairs to the building must be done to keep out the cold and varmints. This will be "historic restoration", since this is one Millburn's Historic National Register Buildings. After repairs are done, the job of sorting out the artifacts can begin. Help will be greatly needed.
