Annual Picnic
September 13, 2003
The Annual H.M.C.A. Picnic will be held on
Saturday, September 13th at 4:00 p.m. in
Mildred Haisma’s backyard. Her address is
38735 N. US Highway 45 in “downtown”
Millburn of Old Mill Creek. Parking is
available by her red barn. The driveway is
located on Millburn Road. Please bring a
chair, a dish to pass, and your own cold
beverage. Brats, buns, and coffee will be
served. We look forward to good food and
good conversation. Don’t miss this
opportunity to meet new people and renew
old friendships. We hope to see you there!
Antique Appraisal Day
October 16th
Our next fundraiser is our 4th Annual
Antique Appraisal Day scheduled for
Thursday, October 16th, from 6:00 - 9:00
p.m. at Millburn School. Parking and
entrances are at the rear of the school. Clean
out your cupboards and bring three items to
be appraised for one $20 donation. Items to
be appraised may include anything you can
carry! Do you have any family heirlooms you
are curious about? Bring them to the
appraisal day!
With Gratitude
We would like to thank Tim Smith for hosting
his Annual 4th of July Picnic. The donations
received helped pay for the restoration of the
main cemetery gate. A delightful time was
had by all who attended. The fireworks, food,
and entertainment were fantastic!! Everyone
enjoyed Tim’s daughter’s riding exhibition as
well. What a talented young rider!
In Remembrance
We sadly mourn the loss of the following
members who have recently died: Margaret
Paulsen, Glen Strang, and Fred Fettinger. We
will miss them terribly.
Donations
The H.M.C.A., Inc. has received memorial
donations in memory of Margaret Paulsen,
Glen Strang, and Fred Fettinger. We thank
their families for the memorial donations we
have received.
Millburn Cemetery Fence Restoration
The H.M.C.A. and the Cemetery Committee
of the Village of Old Mill Creek are working
together to raise funds for the restoration of
the Millburn Cemetery Fence. So far, the fence
sections along Millburn Road and the main
gate have been repaired. We hope to raise
additional funds to repair the other gates and
to paint the entire fence. If you would like to
donate to this worthy cause, please make
your check payable to the H.M.C.A. and
include a note informing us that your
donation is for the restoration of the fence.

The Palmer Cider Mill at Millburn is now
ready for business. Bring in your apples and
have them made into cider. Barrels on hand
for those who wish them. (Does anyone know
where the Millburn Cider Mill was located?)
