Join us for a celebration!

The placement of the Jake Strang House, occupied by Beatrice Anderson, on the Illinois Register of Historic places will be celebrated on September 12, 1981, at 2:30 PM at Beatrice's home. The celebration will feature music by Bob Brooks' brass quintet and a short talk by Senator Karl Berning. After the program we will retire to the Bob Brooks' home for our annual picnic.

Our annual auction with Mr. Framke as auctioneer will be held at the picnic, please bring items for the auction. Brats and liquid refreshments will be furnished. Bring a dish to pass, table service and plan to enjoy the celebration and picnic.

Place the date and time on your calendar.

Our Historic Millburn Community Association sponsored and conducted Memorial Day Services at the Millburn Cemetery. Several people participated in the program and we have expressed our appreciation to them. Your Board of Selectmen have voted to continue sponsoring the Memorial Day Services in the future.

On May 28, 1981, a group traveled by bus to the Lake County Museum where Gary Keller, Director, took us on an interesting trip through the Museum, work rooms, storage rooms and offices. We felt it a most informative trip.

We have been receiving gifts of pictures and other memorabilia which we have recorded and thank you notes sent.

Ruth White
Clerk.
