Our Town Meeting was opened by our President, Dorothy Fettinger, who requested a motion that the not for profit association by-laws to form the Historic Millburn Community Association, Inc. be accepted in order to open the by-laws for discussion. Motion was made and seconded that we accept the by-laws as written. The by-laws were reviewed point by point and we discussed any point not fully understood. We were assisted in this review by Mr. Ellis E. Fuqua and Mr. Douglas W. Stiles, attorneys responsible for preparing the by-laws. Vote was affirmative on accepting the by-laws.
We then nominated a slate of freeholders and citizens to serve on the Board of Selectmen. The following people were elected to serve on the Board of Selectmen: Dorothy Fettinger, William Paulsen, Milton Anderson, Mildred Haisma, Alice Anderson, Ruth White, Robert Brooks and Tom Erlenborn.
Town meeting adjourned and the Board of Selectmen convened to conduct business. Long and short straws were pulled and the following people drew to serve for a 2 year term: Dorothy Fettinger, Milton Anderson, Robert Brooks and William Paulsen.
The following people were elected to serve as officers for the coming year: Chairman - Dorothy Fettinger,Vice Chairman - Milton Anderson, Treasurer - Robert Brooks, Clerk - Ruth White.
Registration fee for the State of Illinois of $25.00 was paid, registered agent and office for the Association is Dorothy Fettinger, and the incorporators voted were the chairman, vice chairman and the clerk.
Our thanks to Mr. Ellis E. Fuqua and Mr. Douglas W. Stiles for all their efforts in making this Historic Milburn Community Association, Inc. possible.
This Association will place us in a position to receive donations of pictures, letters, historical artifacts and gifts.
Our Selectmen will meet the 4th Thursday of each month ad Dorothy Fettinger's office.
Please give anyone of the Selectmen a call if you have any questions. Mr. Brooks, our treasurer, will be happy to receive any monies for Charter Memberships. Closing date for receiving Charter Memberships is March 22, 1979. At our Town Meeting we received monies for 17 Members with the honor of the first Charter Membership going to Richard Martin.
