    Known as "Father Dodge". Born on September 29, 1783, in Rowley, Essex County, Mass. Son of revolutionary war soldier Phineas Dodge, born September 02, 1745, died February, 14, 1768, and Lucy Nelson, born June 22, 1745, and died in 1837. Teacher in Salem, Mass. Married Sarah Dole on April 09, 1807. See tree above for children. Came to Millburn on May 15, 1844. Joined Millburn Church November 17, 1844. Pastor Millburn Church 1844 through 1862 (resignation letter). Leader against slavery. Elected Justice of the Peace. Founding force behind Millburn Mutual Insurance Company Died April 01, 1869, at age 85 years and 6 months. Buried Millburn Cemetery. (obituary). (photos available: 1860, 1865).

    Sarah Dole

    Born December 08, 1781, in Newberryport, Mass. Daughter of Samuel (1745-1805) and Hannah Little Dole. Married William Bradford Dodge on April 09, 1807. Died February 13, 1870, at age 88 years and 2 months. (obituary).

    Samuel "Little" Dole

    Born 1809. Married Deborah Palfrey True on May 20, 1835, in New York City. She was born in 1809 (1811?) in Peoria, the daughter of Joseph (b. 1785) and Polly Berry (d. 1878) True. She died in 1888. Children. Died 1875.

    Lydia Little

    Born 1811. Married John Dearborn. He was born in 1803 and died September 25, 1860, at age 57. Children. Died July 01, 1848, at age 37.

    James Madison

    Born August 05, 1812, in New Hampshire. Married Jane Rayner Crie on August 09, 1837, in Portland, Maine. She was born in 1809 and died in 1887. Children. School teacher at Dodge School. Died February 02, 1887 (one source says June).

    William Bradford

    Born 1813. Married Julia Payne Gray. Children: Burton Payne, born April 26, 1869.

    Lucy Nelson

    Born May 13, 1815. Married William Augustus Gray. Children Died August 6, 1845.

    Judith Dole

    Known as "Aunt Judith". Born 1817 in Mass. Did not marry. Bought land from federal government. Charter member of Millburn Sewing Circle, 1845. Bought quarter section of property in Dakota. Died 1903. Buried in Yankston, S. D.

    Phineas

    Born 1818. Died 1818, at age 11 weeks.

    Hannah Little

    Born 1819 in Salem, Mass. Came to Lake County in 1842. Married Benjamin F. Stedman on December 02, 1844. Children. Died 1884.

    Truman Osborne

    Also seen spelled "Trueman". Born 1821. Died 1822 at age 21 months.

    Anna Wiggin

    Born 1823. Died 1824 at age 4 months.

    Martha Scott

    Born 1824. Died 1826.

Died 1909.

    Anna Robertson

    Born on February 10, 1848, in St. Louis, Missouri. Married Charles E. Miller on December 30, 1869. He was born on March 25, 1844, in St. Louis, the son of Mr. and Catherine Rachel Stenger Miller. He died on December 30, 1918, in St. Louis. Children: Howard Eliot, born on November 16, 1870, died on September 8, 1963; Arthur Dodge, born on April 27, 1873, died on February 9, 1940; Webster Lincoln, born on March 2, 1875, died on June 20, 1953; Channing Miller, born on April 7, 1880, died on May 28, 1932. Died on September 17, 1919, buried in St. Louis.

Children: George White, born November 13, 1877, married Florence A. Harris on March 11, 1903, died December 28, 1968 (photo available: 1886, and 1915); Alice Ethelwyn, born September 28, 1883, married Clarence Bock on October 26, 1905, died January 10, 1973 (photo available: 1886).     Edward Payson

    Born September 1852. Married Rubie C. Barry on December 20, 1877. Children: Helen Cornelia, married John Fredrick Buss of Rochester, Wis., on June 7, 1904, and moved there. Carpenter. Secretary of Millburn Mutual Insurance Company. Died 1919 at his daughter's home in Rochester, Wisconsin.
