George Trotter

Born June, 1800 in Scotland. Married Jane Purves on June 4, 1826. See tree above for children. Came to United States in 1833 and to Millburn in 1839. Bought land from federal government. Charter member of Millburn Congregational Church. Died May 08, 1862.

Jane Purves

Born July 18, 1800 in Scotland. Married George Trotter. Charter member of Millburn Congregational Church. Died December 21, 1876.

Isabella

Died of cholera in 1836 in New York.

Helen

Born 1830 in Scotland. Married John "Jake" Strang in January, 1853. Children: Jessie Margaret Jamieson (adopted). School teacher at Grubb School. Died May 1, 1897, at Millburn, Illinois (obituary).

Alexander

Read biographical sketches written in 1877, 1891, and 1902.

Widely known as "Sandy". Born July 08, 1832, in Berwichshire, Scotland. Married Olivia Ames on June 07, 1855. Children. Farmer. Held office of Collector. Died June 4, 1894, at age 62 years and 11 months (obituary).

Johanna

Also known as Jennie. Born 1835. Second wife of William Hughes, a brother of John and David, on June 17, 1864. Children: George Purves, born August 12, 1866, died 1937; Elizabeth Jane, born December 31, 1868, died 1874; Margaret, born March 2, 1875, married Arthur Phillips of Topeka, Kansas. Moved to New Cambria, Missouri.

Born in 1856. Died April 5, 1866, of drowning while trying to save drowning brother.

William Alexander

Born in 1858. Married Sarah LaPlant. Moved to Hamilton County, Iowa.

Frank

Born in 1861. Drowned in Mill Creek on April 05, 1866.

John Purves

Born April 4, 1875, at Millburn. Married Elizabeth Jane Irving on February 18, 1903, in Millburn Congregational Church. Children. Injured thumb in February, 1906. Moved to Madison (Junius), South Dakota, by train in 1908.

Helen S.

Known as Nellie. Born April 23, 1863. Married Alfred K. Bain on September 23 (27?), 1899. Adopted daughter Dorothy. Died August 15, 1940 (obituary).

Fred Eugene

Born in 1865. Moved to Chicago, Ill. May have spent several years in Iowa. Died in 1924.

Albert Marion

Born in 1867. Moved to Iowa. Later moved to Oklahoma. Died in 1938.

Richard Gardner

Born in 1870. Married Julia Smith of Chicago on December 14, 1899. Children: daughter, born March, 1904. Lived in Chicago. Moved to Colorado.

Mary Louise

Known as Mattie. Born in 1873. Died in 1926.

John

Born about 1875. Children: daughter, born May 11, 1904.

Lucy Dimis

Born 1879. Married Clarence Bonner on June 15, 1909. Children. Died September 14, 1937.

Born on August 3, 1907, at Millburn. Married Newton Clarence Staley on September 20, 1929. Lived in Indiana, New York, and South Dakota. Died on June 17, 1991.

Lois Elizabeth
