W. Roy Bonner
Life-long Millburn resident, W. Roy Bonner, 83, died Dec. 1 at his home.
Mr. Bonner was born July 22, 1916 in Millburn, the son of the late William M. and Ethel (McGuire) Bonner. He was a farmer all his life and also worked for Quaker Oats Co. in Barrington. On Dec. 22, 1941, he married Nita Truax in Millburn. He attended Millburn Congregational Church, and was a member of the Lake County Farm Bureau and the Board of Directors of the Millburn Cemetery. He was active with the Lake County Fair and was an auxiliary member of the Lake Villa Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Nita; three sons, William A. (Kathlyn) of Ft. Calhoun, Neb.; David C. (Ann) and Stephen R. (Eileen), all of Millburn; three daughters, Jane (Bernard) Weber of Millburn, Debra (Peter) Bol of Lindenhurst, and Mary (Mike) Ksioszk of Lake Villa; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his brother, J. Harold Bonner of Walworth. Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch with the Rev. Paul Meltzer of the Millburn Congregational Church officiating. Interment was in Millburn Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Millburn Congregational Church in his memory.
