Irene Chope Schwicht
Irene Chope Schwicht, 86, of Lindenhurst, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 15, 1986, at the Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan.
She was born Irene Emeline Chope, on April 13, 1900, in Millburn, Illinois, to the late John Clark and Mary Evelyn (Nellis) Chope, and was a lifelong resident of the area. On December 23, 1926 she married Louis F. Schwicht, in Waukegan, Illinois and he preceded her in death on September 25, 1968.
Survivors include, 1 son Howard (Jane) of Kodiak, Alaska, 3 daughters, Evelyn (Richard) Riley, of Zion, Illinois, Anne (Fritz) Baumann, of Waukegan, and Mary (John) Matteoni, of Lake Villa, Illinois, 1 sister Mabel Shea, of Waukegan, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl and Dan Chope.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 1986 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Main St. Antioch, Illinois, with the Rev. Ron Petrick, Pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, Waukegan, officiating. Interment will be in Warren Cemetery, Gurnee, Illinois. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 PM Tuesday. Friends desiring may make contribution to the Lake Villa Rescue Squad in her memory.
