Mrs. Julia J. Slocum, 95, formerly of Russell, Illinois, died
Saturday, April 7th at the Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Slocum was born February 16, 1878, in Millburn, Illinois, and
had lived most of her live in Lake County, Illinois. She was a
member of the North Prairie United Methodist Church. She was
preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Slocum, in 1956 and by a
son, Earle, in 1971.
Mrs. Slocum is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Grace) Olson;
five sons, Wanton, Wesley, Arthur and Harold, of Minneapolis,
Minnesota; eighteen grandchildren and forty great-grand-children,
and a sister, Mrs. Madelyn Tebben, of Lake Hamilton, Florida.
Funeral services will be 2 p. m. Tuesday, April 10th, at the Marsh
Funeral Home, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, with Reverend Gehl
Devore and Reverend L. H. Messersmith officiating. Interment will
be in Mount Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
after 12 noon Tuesday.
