Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bonner, Mrs. Lizzie Stewart, of Gurnee, Mrs. Mina Gilbert and Miss Margaret Gilbert of Waukegan were guests for dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bonner on Monday to celebrate the birthdays of W. A. Bonner and his twin sister, Mrs. Gilbert.

The parsonage was painted the past week by donated labor from the men in the parish.

Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Corrin and sons of Chicago spent Monday with Rev. Holden at the parsonage.

Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Bonner and family spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Priest in Three Oaks, Mich.

Miss Katharine Koertge, who has spent the summer with her parents in southern Illinois, returned on Friday to the Carl Anderson home, and resumed her duties as teacher at Millburn school on Tuesday.

Mrs. George Beaumont, Mrs. Floyd Beaumont and daughter of Kansasville, Wis., spent Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Robert Bonner.

A. G. Torfin and daughter, Phyllis, spent Wednesday at Park Ridge.

Miss Edith Holden has returned to the parsonage after several months' visit with friends at Indianapolis.

The first meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association was held at the schoolhouse on Tuesday evening. After the regular business session, a short program was given which included several readings by Richard Martin and an interesting talk by Rev. Holden.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hauser and family spent Sunday with Mrs. Hauser's parents, at Camp Lake, Wis.

The Torfin family entertained relatives from North Dakota the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. George Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erwin of Waukegan spent Sunday afternoon at the Earl Edwards home in River Forest.

Homer White, Earl Bauman, Roy and Howard Bonner spent several days at Northern Illinois Junior Fair at Aurora, where they showed their projects in their 4-H and F. F. A. work.

Mrs. Beck of Evanston spent several days with her daughter, Mrs. A. H. Pierstorff.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bonner, Vivien Bonner, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bonner and family, and Kingsley Ferry were guests for dinner at the Gordon Bonner home on Sunday in honor of the 54th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bonner.

The monthly business meeting of the Christian Endeavor Society was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Groebli Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Romney Ashton of Chicago spent Saturday afternoon at the D. B. Webb home.

Geraldine Bonner returned home Friday from a week's visit with relatives in Three Oaks, Mich., and Evanston.

Ralph McGuire spent Thursday at the World's Fair in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bonner attended the funeral services for the latter's aunt, Mrs. William Metcalf of Franksville, Wis., which were held at the Yorkville church Sunday afternoon.

D. B. Webb, Mrs. F. G. Edwards, John and Marc Edwards spent Saturday afternoon at the E. H. Edwards home in River Forest.

Geraldine Bonner entered Lake College of Commerce in Waukegan this week.

Mrs. E. A. Martin and Richard attended A Century of Progress on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. George Larsen of Waukegan spent Sunday at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Lewis Bauman.

Mrs. Eva Alling and Miss Katharine Koertge attended A Century of Progress Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bruckner and family called at the Frank Hauser home Friday evening.

The Ladies Aid supper last Thursday night was well attended. The supper was served by Vivien Bonner, Mrs. Pierstorff and Mrs. Groebli.

Miss Katherine Koertge and her Sunday school class of girls of high school age enjoyed a bike to Coon Hollow last Sunday morning, starting at 6:30. They breakfasted there, and returned in time for Sunday School.

Mr. and Mrs. George W. Dodge and their three sons, Ralph, George and David, spent Sunday with the former's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bock.

The Hickory Unit of Home Bureau will meet at the home of Miss Vivien Bonner on Thursday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Webb and F. G. Edwards spent Sunday afternoon at the E. H. Edwards home in River Forest. Marc Edwards, who has spent the summer at the Webb home, returned with them to start school on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ross Stewart of Morgan Park were callers at the J. H. Bonner home Saturday.

In the first serious mishap since the Onwentsia hunt club opened its fall season here last Sunday, Corson G. Ellis, 285 West Laurel avenue, Lake Forest, received a fractured left leg Tuesday when he was thrown from his horse in a club hunt. Mr. Ellis, son- in-law of Robert J. Thorne, was taken to Dr. Theodore Proxmire in Lake Forest for medical aid following the accident.

Miss Vivien Bonner with Miss Floy Dixon of Rosecrans visited the World's Fair on Tuesday.

Mrs. E. A. Martin and son, Richard, Mrs. Florence Achen and son, George, of Kenosha, drove to Appleton, Wis., on Thursday. Richard and George remained and will attend Laurence College this year.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bonner, Will and Gordon Bonner attended the Racine County Fair at Union Grove last Thursday.

Mrs. Florence Achen and son, Norman, were guests for dinner at the E. A. Martin home on Sunday.

Miss Doris Jamison of Chicago spent the week-end with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Jamison.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erwin of Waukegan called at the George Edwards home Sunday afternoon.

Robert Hughes and Homer Edwards spent the week-end at their respective homes before returned to Urbana Monday to resume class work.

Rev. Holden, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Pierstorff, Vivien Bonner, Eva Alling, Ruth Minto, Alice Bauman and Katharine Koertge attended the Sunday school convention at Lake Forest on Tuesday.

Mrs. J. S. Denman, who has spent five weeks with her sister, Mrs. Carl Neuman, in Boulder, Colo., returned home Sunday evening. Mrs. Neuman is slowly improving after a major operation.

The Hickory Unit of Home Bureau met at the home of Vivien Bonner on Thursday afternoon with 11 members and 3 guests present. Miss Kimmelshue gave the lesson on "Selection and Arrangement of Equipment in the Kitchen."

Miss Emily Mann spent several days visiting friends in this vicinity.

Mrs. A. W. Safford, Miss Clara Foote, Miss Helen Safford from Austin, and Mrs. Ralph Wheaton of Wheaton called on old friends here on Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Gordon Bonner and Mrs. Robert Bonner spent Friday at Grayslake where they received a lesson on "Refinishing Furniture." They will give this lesson at the November meeting of Hickory Unit of Home Bureau.

Mrs. E. A. Martin and Mrs. E. Mann called at the home of Mrs. John Crawford Saturday afternoon.

Miss May Dodge spent Sunday at the Clarence Bonner home.

Mrs. Gordon Bonner entertained her Sunday school class at her home Saturday afternoon. Those attending were: Phyllis Hughes, Clarice Minto, Carol Nielsen, Ruth Pierstorff, Helen Thompson, Harold Bonner, Everett Harris, Wallace Torfin, and Robert White.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Edwards and family of Waukegan called at the George Edwards home Sunday afternoon.

Elmer Gullidge of Spokane, Wash., who is visiting his sister, Mrs. Delbert Faulkner of Gurnee, called on old friends on Wednesday afternoon.

Miss Mary Kerr of Lake Villa spent Saturday afternoon with her sister, Mrs. Alice Spring.

Mrs. Arthur McBratney and children of Chicago spent several days at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bock.

Mr. and Mrs. George Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Erwin of Waukegan spent Sunday afternoon at the Earl Edwards home in River Forest.
