Two o'clock in the afternoon was the hour appointed for the ceremony, but long before that time the numerous guests from all parts of the township had arrived, bringing with them many beautiful presents as tokens of their esteem for the young couple. Promptly at the appointed hour the members of the bridal party took their places in the east parlor, Mr. Clarence Webb, brother of the bride, acting as groom's man and and Miss Crawford as bride's maid. Low and reverently the pastor pronounced the solemn and impressive marriage rites of the Methodist church, and with hands clasped in the presence of God, His humble minister of the gospel and the assembled relatives and friends, the happy couple became man and wife.
