James Yule was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, in 1818, came to America in 1840. He was married, in Wisconsin, to Jessie Gibbon, who died in 1854, leaving three children, two of whom are still living. In 1860 he married his second wife, Mary Williamson, who survives him. Of her children, three are living. Mr. Yule was a member of the Congregational church of Millburn, and one of the old settlers of Lake county, having lived here forty-seven years.

The funeral was held at the Millburn church, Friday, the Rev. Mr. Arnett conducting the services. He preached from the words "To live is Christ, to die is gain." He was buried in the Millburn cemetery, his remains being followed to the grave by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
